Once Year After His Medical Odyssey
When I awoke into the aftermath—into the glare of ICU lights, the medical reports, and the grief my family had carried while darkness covered my consciousness—it would have been natural to fear or despair. Instead, I found something waiting for me on the other side: joy.
That joy was not temperament or toughness. It was the Holy Spirit meeting me in weakness, steadying me when human foundations had collapsed, and reminding me, quietly but unmistakably, that God had been present the entire time.
Through it all, God healed my body, restored my mind, and renewed my spirit. And He impressed a simple truth on my heart:
"Death took your breath away, but I gave it back. Now, use the life I returned to you for the reason I gave it to you in the first place."
That is why I wrote this book. I am giving back to God what belongs to God—my life and my story, for His glory.
