This Innovo campaign is specifically designed to target your local media rather than broader general interest media. This is the perfect campaign to launch your novel, album, or film in the local area that knows you best.
What’s Included:
Our four-week book marketing service is a focused campaign to media outlets interested in your book, e-book, audiobook, music album, or film. We promote your title to publications (print and online) we know are receptive to novels, music albums, or film specifically—plus we’ll raise awareness within the title’s specific genre—e.g., science fiction, romance, thriller, or mystery, among others for books and film, and gospel, contemporary, light rock, etc. for music.
Once you have completed our author/artist/organization questionnaire, your Innovo publicist will call you and discuss your goals, your title’s topics, answer your questions, and then draft a press release about your title for your review and approval.
- Based on the questionnaire and your input, your Innovo publicist will identify and create a list of the “top 10” media outlets to whom we will send copies of your title with the accompanying press release. Your Innovo publicist will target print and online reviewers, offer your title for consideration, and mail your title and press release upon their request. Then your publicist will follow up with those who have shown interest to encourage media coverage. Your publicist will provide to you all feedback and reviews generated by the process.
- Your Innovo publicist will personally pitch you and your title to the TOP 10 local press/media outlets and contact many more media outlets on your behalf. Your Innovo publicist will send you weekly updates on their progress. Having a publicist call on your behalf can really make a positive impression on the media (i.e., this author/artist knows the industry and has a professional support team).
- When the campaign ends, your Innovo publicist will provide you with the contact information of all media contacts expressing interest in the book and an informative “KEEP THE MOMEMTUM GOING” kit with tips, advice, and activities designed to help you continue to build awareness for your title and even grow the momentum for additional media coverage on your own.
- The author will need to supply 50 copies of the title for media requests and mailings.
*50 copies of your title are required for this campaign. If you used one of our publishing packages, we are happy to send the complimentary copies of your title, if any, directly to your Innovo publicist.
How many books will I sell with this publicity package?
No one can say for sure. As with any publicity service, there is no guarantee on sales. We do, however, guarantee media exposure and we will provide details about the activities undertaken to promote your title(s).
Should this be my only form of marketing?
We don’t think so. No single publicity package can guarantee book sales. We recommend this package be used along with other supporting marketing plans that include several publicity and marketing approaches.
What are my responsibilities during this process?
You must be available to your Innovo publicist by phone and/or e-mail at least weekly during the campaign. During the initial information gathering stage, more of your time is normally required. As the campaign gets underway, your publicist will be contacting the media and working on your behalf to coordinate media and interactions for you.
Couldn’t I just do this myself?
Yes, we think you could, but it would probably take a lot of time to identify the right media contacts and to learn their specialties and preferences. In addition, we know who to contact and how to contact them, which should help make a better first impression for you and your title(s). A key issue is the amount of time you can afford to devote to publicity efforts. In fact, this may be a deciding factor in selecting the right marketing/publicity package for you. If I live outside the U.S., can I still use Innovo’s publicity services?
Our global publicity services are targeted to media in the U.S., Canada, UK, or Australia (with the potential of adding other specific countries on request). If you are located elsewhere in the world, we can still work with you, but our campaign will still target media in these countries (depending on the services you selected). In addition, if you live outside the countries mentioned, we will focus more on print, radio, and Web media instead of broadcast/television, which may require your physical presence.
How do I contact my Innovo publicist?
You may contact your Innovo publicist at any time by phone or e-mail. Your Innovo publicist will begin your publicity campaign with a phone call (or Skype call) to discuss your campaign goals and to go over the campaign questionnaire we will provide. During the campaign, your publicist will send you regular e-mail updates, including information about the media who have been contacted, as well as those who have responded, and those who requested copies of your book/title(s) or other information such as sell sheets or press kits.
